Abstract
It is difficult to determine the source of bronchial stenosis unless bronchofiberscopic
trials are indebteed. We are aware of certain cases of atelectasis regarded as a
complication of bronchogenic malignancy which were disclosed lately as bronchial
tuberculosis by the flexible bronchoscopic approach. Majority of the patients were female
aging boyond 50 years. Right upper lobe bronchus was involved most frequently.
Flexible bronchoscopic pictures of tuberculous lesions showed mucosal swelling or
edema, redness, erosion, ulceration, hypertrophy with narrowing of lumen and cicartrical
stenosis due to whitish pseudomembrane.
Here, we illustrated 5 interesting cases of bronchial tuberculosis and reviewed the
literatures.
